In 2005 my daughter's fellow Brownie troop member's Dad was a Congressman and we all had a chance to go on an arranged tour of the White House. That year the theme was All Things Bright and Beautiful and the decor was chosen to highlight the beauty found in nature. There was lime, coral, gold and other pretty color combinations that were a twist on the traditional red and green. The book we received was a real keepsake, with beautiful illustrations by author Donna Green. (all photography by Shealah Craighead)
You can virtually visit any of the White House Christmas decorations since 2001. I understand this year the theme is Red, White and Blue. For me, 2005 remains my favorite.
I love those White House decorations - the orange looks wonderful, have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year, xv.
ReplyDeleteI've been watching CSpan all week because they have been airing a ton of shows about the interiors of The White House (including the Jackie tour).
ReplyDeleteI love these coral colors alot more than this years decorations.
Have a Merry Christmas!

That's so cool that you got to visit. Now that's something I'd love to do.
ReplyDeleteI love all those decorations, they are sooo beautiful. I think I might be able to pull something like that off too if I had all those little elves running around for me :)
ReplyDeleteLove the use of coral and lime- really different for such traditonal establishment. Will have to go and take a tour!
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays!

ReplyDeleteI have a print of the White House at Christmas that I still love (although it's not hanging at the moment).
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas, Michelle.
I love oranges at Christmas! Great post. Merry Christmas to you and yours!
ReplyDeleteFascinating! Please see my post today, I had the pleasure of attending a White House party last week and did a post on the decorations. As much as I loved the Red, White, and Blue Christmas theme, I think I might like the "All Things Bright and Beautiful' a bit more...I have never been a huge fan of red, I must admit, but coral and green are right up my alley!
