Here DC based designer Kelley Proxmire hangs a large, round convex mirror over a mirrored wall, reflecting light and expanding the space. This dining room was part of an Eastern Shore Decorator Showhouse from a few years ago. I happened to go to this showhouse and loved this room. The simple centerpiece would be great for a Thanksgiving table setting. For more - go to Kelley Proxmire's website here.
The mirrors in these two pictures are hung over antiqued mirror for a nice effect. (above Elliott Puckette's home, American Vogue, May 2003, photography by Francois Halard via Style Court)

After spending an inordinate amount of time searching for more pictures of mirrors over mirrors and running dry, I wondered about layering Art over a Mirror?
What about hanging a print that is framed with a surround of glass (like below) over a mirror? You could use ribbon to hang it - maybe even doing something just for the holidays... (pictures from my visit to And George in Charlottesville, VA)
Or, as Kelley Proxmire did here, hanging a Mirror over a Window?

A very cool look. I love anything that ups the ante without being pretentious and this layering of mirror on mirror seems to do that just fine.
A mirror within a mirror---what a fantastic idea! Love it! Thanks for sharing! =) ~Liz
So pretty! Love the way this looks.
Love this look, such a great idea! Have a sweet day!
Love this idea...xv
I love the mirror over mirror look! In fact I love just about anything layered over a mirror. I always hang wreaths over my mirrors during the holidays.
Any idea where those pillows are from in the third picture?
Great post, Michele! I love the look of the Venetian mirror layered over the bigger bathroom mirror. So chic.
I love this look! It is so glamorous!
What a fun design element!
So chic, definitely adding the idea to my bag of tricks! Lovely images.
mmm yes, I love most anything layered over a mirror.
There is something to be said of taste that inspire as seen through the eyes of one with a cultivated eye, unfortunately I’m not the one best able to say it but I’ll say this. You my dear have an eye for the divine. I will follow with interest and appreciation.
Love that first image in particular! Still trying to find a reasonably priced sunburst mirror,to try out this layering effect, but I suppose the hunt is half the fun!
Love the look. Mirrors are my favorite way of lightening up our home and the mirror on mirror look would make it even better!

Trish's room is drool worthy. I love layering mirrors and artwork both over mirrors.
I love a mirror on a mirror! I have that in my front room, and an empty frame on a mirror in my upstairs ahllway. (I just did a post about it today!) I love the way this looks.
There sure is an awful lot of Love going on with this post. I think it makes us feel elevated in our design choices when we layer. It's cozy without feeling stuffy.
It appears everyone likes this feeling and it has to be done with the right scale and color. What a great time to try it out during the holiday's with festive decor then branch outt from there.

very glamorous. Especially the first two options. But I agree that it needs to be the right combo. But these are great!!
We must be on the same wave length! The very same thing happened to me with your posts. Thanks for the mention!
I love the images you found. I'm thinking of doing this in one of our bathrooms, but haven't been able to find the perfect foreground mirror.
love this!! too funny about staying up too late looking for pics & seeing a post!! (this so happens to me all the time!) This is such a gorgeous look. I love the mirrors over the window too!
Have a happy Thanksgiving!!!

The styling is amazing...I'm going to save everyone of these shots for inspiration!
Bathrooms are great rooms for this...your sconces throw back the light.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Best,
Michelle
I love this look, I think its great and so easy to switch up if you want to change the top mirror.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Love the look - great post and image choice. Also, And George is one of the coolest stores around! Just love going there.
Great look. It really does bring another dimension to the mirror.
Love that bathroom. I wonder how difficult it is (practically speaking) to actually hang a mirror on another mirror. I need to do some research...
I do like this mirror over mirror look...thanks for digging up all of these images....fab.
Blessings...
