I've had these photos of the Loft Suite at Covent Garden Hotel, London floating around in my inspiration file and thought it was finally time to post them. I like the simple furnishings and the contrast between the open space and the more intimate space tucked in under the bedroom loft above. A huge mirror over the marble fireplace is balanced on the opposite side by the large painting.

You're right, the striped pillows really make what could be a traditional space, modern. You could switch them out for chintz and give the whole space a different feel!
Love the glossy black finish on that coffee table. I've been thinking of doing that to a coffee table in my basement (outdated light pine finish) and now I know for sure it's the look I want.

lofts are usually not so cozy, this space is,especially with the low ceiling in the charming study. am thinking about a quick jaunt to england but would imagine this is very expensive.

i have a weird thing...
i don't make striped pillows, ever, unless they are mitered.
i don't know....it is a thing with me.
although i will do a bolster/tootsie roll pillow with the stripes running horizontally.
