These images rocked my world!! I just got the most beeeeatiful rock crystal book ends from Eddie Ross' Etsy shop - via our "home show".
I've loved minerals, shells and coral since I was little, so my house is filled with them. Minerals, shells and starfish in the library. Pipe organ coral, ear coral, a large barnacle cluster and an elephant ear sponge in the dining room. A Pottery Barn collectors' box in the living room filled with shells. Several shadow boxes filled with coral. Minerals in all the bedrooms. A giant clamshell, a large starfish and a vase sponge in the master bedroom. Minerals, sea fans and a wire vase sponge in the upstairs sitting room.
I'd say I've got shell and mineral lust real bad!

Beautiful!! I love trends. To me, they add freshness to a home that says "I am of this moment and someone is tending to me to make that so." Otherwise a home can be frozen in time. Also trends allow beloved elements to have their time in the spotlight. I am not one to say once something is popular, I don't like it. If I love something (like I do toile) I don't love it less because everyone else suddenly discovers it. I do draw the line somewhere though. Let's not have any resin rock crystal!!

Yes! I actually have had one from over 10 years ago...way before they were cool. It has traveled with me to all my different homes! Such a good observation!
