Stunning Powder Room

One of the most stunning powder rooms I've seen in a while.  From the home of Atlanta builder Pam sessions, featured in the current edition of TradHome.  Photography by Lauren Rubinstein.

The wallpaper looks to be Cole & Son's Nuvolette - but I wonder if what's used here is a custom color?

Scott Laslie in TradHome!

Since we still have our power on (fingers crossed), I thought I'd celebrate with a post about designer Scott Laslie's Chicago home featured in the current edition of TradHome.  Really stunning with lots of layers, texture and interesting juxtapositions.  (Photography by Lauren Rubinstein)

Help Please!

UPDATE:   The fabulous Jennifer Sergent of DC by Design found the fabric!!   Here's her comment:

You're not going to believe this. I thought that fabric looked very familiar, so I went back to a story I wrote for Luxe Interiors + Design this past fall, on a grand home in Fort Worth -- and sure enough, designer Joseph Minton used this fabric with abandon in the public areas -- It's Lee Jofa's hand-blocked Chinese Lantern.

Here's my story: http://dcbydesignblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/LuxeDallasMintonFeature.pdf

You can read her post w/the fabric here.

I have a couple of readers who are dying to know the name of this gorgeous fabric from my recent post on this room by Larry Hooke.  If know what that's like - if anyone has any ideas that would me most welcome!

Also, there's a request for ideas on paint colors that would approximate the back of these bookshelves.

Sunny Winter Day Reprise

A few years ago I put up 2 posts about this gorgeous home designed by Larry Hooke.  It proved to be very popular so I'm reprising it for anyone who missed it back in Dec 2013/Jan 2014.   The posts were originally titled "Sunny Winter Day" as the rooms reminded me of the colors of a cold, bright winter day.  I am still head-over-heels in love with this space.

Solution for Space Above the Cabinets

Here's an attractive option for the space between cabinets and the ceiling.  The lighting really adds to the look too.  (Images from a Merit Kitchen advertisement.)

Home of the Month

The renovated 1906 Edwardian home of Allison Willson, a senior designer with Sarah Richardson Design, is featured in the February issue of Canadian House and Home.  Love this color palette and the choice of the stripe rug. The kitchen is pretty gorgeous too. (Photography by Angus Fergusson)

9th Year: Why I Still Blog

2016 will be my 9th year of blogging...I never thought about how long I'd keep it up when I started 12/31/07.  Like any hobby, I do it because I like it!  (thank you readers and blog friends who've made it so much fun)  And, even with instagram and pinterest, it's the best way I've found to share my love of interior design.  I still get excited when I come across an amazing designer, like Cameron Kimber, knowing I can share my excitement for their work here on My Notting Hill.  For more of Cameron Kimber's portfolio head here.

Gorgeous Kitchen

Hey, Happy 2016!  I think (fingers crossed) that there will finally be a kitchen renovation at our house this year.  Loving this one by Ken Linstead Architects.
