It has 14.8 cubic feet of storage and is counter depth at 24 13/16 inches and is 75" high and almost 28" wide. Our current refrigerator is no where near counter depth and is 34" wide - so we will gain 6" of storage space and about 8 inches of freed up floor space. This will be great because our refrigerator is positioned to the very right of the entrance into the kitchen. Although it is smaller than our current Amana bottom mount freezer, I'm very excited that it's shallower because alot of our food ends up getting forgotten about at the back of the fridge.
Check out Yale Applicances blog for their comments and more pics of the Blomberg. It's interesting because they also mention the counter-depth Fisher & Paykel fridge. We really liked that one but it wasn't Energy Star rated. (p.s. - Thanks to the salesman at Yale Appliances! Eventhough he knew he couldn't make a sale with me (Yale is located in the Boston area) he generously spent time with me on the phone. I was interested to hear about the product reliability of the Blomberg and he said they've had no red flags raised by their service department.) If you're in the Washington DC area you can see a Blomberg (as well as Summit fridges) at M and M Appliance.
Love this creative idea for storage.
After the fridge arrives, we will be completing the second 1/2 of our kitchen renovation. We finished the upper cabinets two years ago and now it's time to move on to the bottom cabinets. This is a case where our procrastination payed off because the Blomberg fridge has only recently become available in the U.S. image via Canadian House & Home
The image below is from Porch Light Interiors - a terrific blog if you haven't already come across it. I heart this kitchen from Notebook Magazine.

That is SOME refrigerator! I am jealous! I want one too!
These are exciting days aren't they. I'd love a new fridge ;) Cheers Homer.
I love new appliances. I'm glad I'm not alone. :-)
I got the magazine - thanks again!
Did you ever think the day would come when you could get excited about a fridge? I have to say as the owner of a similar model-stainless ain't painless! Smudge, runs, water all add to the joy of keeping it clean. Oh, and did I mention what a 75lb dog's nails do as a decorative touch?
I was nominated for a SMILE award and as I am new to blogging, but have read your blog for quite awhile I am hereby nominating you for the award. Please visit my blog. Thanks!!
Counter depth is brilliant! You will have so much more room!
Just chillin! Love it...congrats!
Looks excellent. We thought we had decided on the Liebherr, but economic times being what they are, a more affordable option may be the right one. We have quite a few months before we make a final decision. I hope you'll post a follow-up to let us know how you like your Blomberg once it's moved in.
(I wonder if we can get it in Canada.)
I'm in the same boat as S and N, i was considering the new integrated Liebherr, but at a $5,800 price tag I'm getting nervous. I could get 2 of the Blomberg and have more space and it would still be cheaper. I think I'm going to look into it now and check out Yale since I'm in the Boston area. Thanks for sharing!!
How timely, thanks for the hint. Our fridge and the market started to go at about the same time.... nice timing. This helps narrow down the possibilities. Although I was leaning towards a model with tow bottom drawers.
Wow!! Love to see your new refrigerator!! I just love this one so much!!
How is your fridge operating? I bought one the 1040 and it's making a very strange racket. Does yours make strange noises as well? I need some people that have one to help me compare.
Friendof - Hi. Mine is very quiet, doesn't make much noise except maybe once a week it might go through a brief cycle when its a little louder. Ours has a fan at the back of the freezer section that we have to be sure not to put anything in front of. Sorry yours is making noise. Michele
I have been checking out lots of refrigerators as well and am thinking of an LG as well as a Blomberg. Any idea if one is more enery efficient?
