What about Beige?

Considering I live in the DC area, I'm not sure how it took me 2 years to check out And Beige, a very chic interiors store focusing on muted, natural tones with a surprise or two thrown in. Accent pieces are a stand-out here. I've seen a lot of hour glasses lately and I'm loving these.

The view out the front window; the store which opened in 2007 is located in the Adams Morgan section of DC. Love this artful arrangement of mirrors and the very curvy bureau below.

A nod to the Washington Monument - this inlaid obelisk would be a great souvenir for a design savvy DC tourist.
Not sure if this is wallpaper or a stencil, but love the subtle pattern on this wall.
Great "trayscape" - a good reminder to consider combining interesting objects in their own vignette. I really enjoyed my visit to And Beige. Whoever said beige was boring! - not.

Lovely store!
Why do I adore hourglasses so much. They simply fascinate me, and always have.

Beautiful! I live in Seattle but added them to my favorites anyway. I wonder if they deliver. The curved bureau is amazing and I love the green and blue collection of bottles.

Lovely things! I love when I see something I want, but not when it's in Washington!! I love the brown and white patterned chair with the bird print. I want that!!! Will have to visit when I am there in Sept.
Great post. More DC shops please, so I know where to go, hehe. David may not allow shopping on this trip, however, since I took 2 days (full days) out of our Paris trip for only shopping (I had a list of 40 stores). ; )

I contemplated buying a similar hourglass yesterday, but foolishly passed it up! Thanks to you, I am now off to purchase it. I will visit this shop when I next visit my daughter in DC...

And Beige is truly one of my favorite shops in DC. I've shopped there religiously since it opened, and am always amazed at the fantastic product assortment, beautifully arranged showroom, and spectacular service. Thanks for highlighting this design mecca!

Oh beautiful! I need to make a trip back to DC. It's one of my favorite cities! I started college at GWU (later transfered close to home) but had the most amazing time in DC. I use to do Jump Start (tutoring) in Adams Morgan and it was one of my parts of DC.

Thanks for giving us a sneak peek.

As someone who doesn't have anything beige in my entire house and who loves color, I am very impressed with this place. They have a great eye for texture and design, which made me forget totally the lack of colors I usually gravitate towards. I especially love the tablescape with the calligraphy brush. I have started collecting them and think they are great. I would love to visit this shop.

Oh my, that curved bureau is on the very top of my 'decor lust' list - I wish And Beige was situated right here in Australia. All the other goodies are quite beautiful too.
