Elegant Comfort in Charleston

It seems that every time I find myself browsing South of Broad real estate offerings in Charleston, I come across something beautiful. This kitchen isn't large but it's a knock-out in my book. Love, love the diamond metal screen in the cabinets, the wooden shutters and all the silver accents.

Antique mirrors are encased in molding for a very nice effect in this sitting room.
My favorite part of this master bedroom is the white washed wood mantel.
And, to end with, an elegant marble bath with wall mounted fixtures and more silver accents. For more images of this lovely home, go here.

Hope you have a great weekend. Here in the DC area snow has been forecasted and we've been advised to "shelter in place," really...I never heard that once in the 23 years I lived in upstate NY!

This is a beautiful home and I am so glad you posted it. We are redoing our kitchen (mini redo) and I've been trying to convince my husband that we should cut out the wood panels on over the desk area and install wire....just another beautiful file for my arsenal! Good luck with the snow...I ran into Giant last night and it looked like we were living in a third world country....never seen anything like it!

Good pick! I'd buy it for the bathroom and kitchen! Hmmm...don't think I can afford it. I went into the most magnificent restored carridge house last March in Charleston...no pictures allowed...met the owner and chatted with her about some of the details. I am hoping it may have been one of the reasons HB was there in the fall! Happy Snow Day!

I live in Charleston, and while I don't get to see these homes too often from the inside, they're just as beautiful on the outside.

P.S. Good luck with the snow storm, Michele! Apparently, Boston is being spared this time.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and giving me your opinion! I ended up buying it last week. I paid $640. I felt comfortable with that.

I love Charleston homes. I picked up a copy of Renovation Style yesterday after seeing other bloggers posting about Anna Kohlers apartment. The whole issue was fantastic but the article I really loved the most was Kimberly Williams home in Charleston. You should pick up a copy if you haven't already!

i think wall mounted fixtures are the absolute best.

they never get nasty the way they do when mounted on the sink portion on the counter.

That's the simple, chic, beautiful kitchen I want in my home. Also from DC I'm thrilled to just have made it to Miami just in the nick of time. Good luck staying put!

"shelter in place" sounds civilized doesn't it? smiles.

Sheltering in place with 30 inches-yikes! Love the metal screen in the kitchen cabinets-reminds me of the aviary screen in the little laundry room at the Georgetown Showhouse.

I BEGGED my husband to move to Charleston (we ending up in Newport - not so bad) because those Charlestonians have STYLE STYLE STYLE. Love the chicken wire in the cabinets in the kitchen and those subway tiles are perfect there. BRILLIANT.

Thanks for posting these! When I was in College, I lived around the corner from this house and can recall the restoration. It's amazing how many little gems (and grand one) exist throughout that magical city.
