Patterned Floors in Mary Douglas Drysdale's Living Room

I'm still thinking about the patterned floors in Mary Douglas Drysdale's living room at the Richmond Symphony Designer House. Here's some close-up pics of the floor that Tom Hickey and his staff at Rising Tide Inc created based on Mary's design. Beautiful work.

Love this floor too! Hope you're having a good weekend. I'm off to San Francisco later in the week.

I love these, my husband did several in an Atlanta residence once, I lusted after them. But, you know, the cobbler's kids have no shoes!

Absolutely beautiful! I would need to put three coats of varnish on top to protect the floor in my home.
Have a nice trip.

Wowza...those are gorgeous. Always wanted a house where I could do something like that. We did something similar with paint in an ols spanish cottage we had.

I did not know that you were from the DC area. I'm from Richmond and I haven't been to the Designer House yet. I did meet Mary last weekend at Starbucks so I am excited to see her room. Have you seen the finished project? The floor is beautiful ( I was wondering who did it - thanks for the tip)

That's stenciling done RIGHT! It takes such guts to paint a floor, but it looks amazing, as does everything Mary does!

These photos are stunning!! Thanks for sharing them. I loved seeing the floors in person at the Showhouse and now it is fascinating to see the steps taken to get the final result. And the gray floor makes me weak in the knees! ;)
Enjoy your trip out west!
