Perfection in White

John Jacob Zwiegelaar of John Jacob Interiors is one of my all time favorite designers. Only in his early 30's, he opened his Cape Town firm in 2005 and already has an impressive portfolio. This home appeared in the May 2006 issue of House & Garden South Africa. I hope you enjoy looking at it as much as I do. It's almost Friday!

All of that fretwork, carvings, and inlay are what make these spaces go from boring white to nuanced and beautiful.

Very beautiful spaces, what a talent at such a young age! So much great texture. I especially like the all white convex mirror with the eagle. It's always fun to see something classic and traditional given a new twist!

Wow, no kidding perfection in white! My husband is Indian and we own a Cape house in New England that wants rather traditional New England styling, and I've been trying to think how to incorporate some of the traditional Indian look- this is some great inspiration! Thanks for sharing it!

PS- Do you think there are actually that many carved screens in the house, or do you think they just carted the same one into every shot? :)

Very elegant and glamourous. Love the mirrored cabinet doors and the dining area. The lacy screens are beautiful too.

Can I move there - now - alone!
I am afraid it would not stay white for long, with my family! (even though I do love them and all their imperfections) That place is va va va voom!
