Nov. 7th - really?

This morning I woke up in the dark and googled when daylight savings time would start. I was really hoping it would be soon as I'm not one of those people who does well waking up in the dark & having it stay dark for a while (Although I don't like having it get dark early either. Shortened daylight is a huge downside to fall and winter for me.) Anyway, we don't get to set our clocks back until Nov. 7th. Last year it was Nov. 1st. Sorry for the whining on a Monday morning. Hope these images from Maison Interiors make up for it.

All images from here.Speaking of sleep, here are some of the fun designers and bloggers I got to catch up with at Ronda Carmen of All the Best's SFERRA event at Timothy Paul Bedding. From left to right, designer Barbara Franceski, Stefan Hurray of Architect Design, designers Heather Safferstone and Sally Steponkus of Sally Steponkus Interiors and Daniela Shuffler of Aesthetic Oiseau.

SFERRA has launched a campaign called Lose Count to increase awareness that there are other important elements to high quality bedding in addition to thread count. Check it out here as there's also great info on putting together a beautiful bed.

Oh well, I was hoping that DST would happen this coming weekend. It has indeed been disorienting to wake up when it is still dark. The best part about the change of the clocks in the autumn, though, is one gets a delicious extra hour in the day it happens...

There is nothing good about the "shorter" days of winter, with the time change it then gets dark so early! :(

It is difficult for me to get up in the dark too, and I am ready to go to bed at eight o'clock, which I can't do!
Beautiful images. Appears there was fun for all.
Have nice day.

I won't comment on the daylight, since it is Spring here and it seems to sun comes up at 3 am !
I am glad to see that photo of the mirrored french doors.
Every door in my home is a french door and I am seriously considering mirroring a few. But I worry about the light that will be lost.
But it sure looks good !

I know...I hate getting the kids up for school in the dark- I'm constantly arriving there late because I am still trying to get myself out of bed:( On the up side, thanks for the lovely images!

Oh those bedroom images are stunning! The billowing, bunching drapes in the first shot look positively edible.
Ugh, I also hate daylight savings with a passion -- it's so morbid.

Cheers, Alcira

One of my friends claims to store daylight in a jar along with the summer heat for the cold of winter. I really do love the light and am already counting the days trying to store away light and heat. Those beds do look inviting.

Sigh - Nov 7 seems like a long time from now! I have been driving the kids to school every morning this week, and it seems so weird that dawn doesn't even arrive until we are almost at school.
