Eye Candy 2 Ways & a Jewelry Giveaway

The power of one piece of art to elevate the design of an entire room is evident in the den of designer Courtney Giles. Looking beyond that though you can also see all the wonderful choices she made with texture, pattern and color in this room. Love the wide ribs on the sofa fabric & the shape of the orange chair. Her home first appeared in Atlanta Homes, Sep 2007. To see more go here. (Photography by Erica George Dines)
After posting this first pic, I found this version of her den with dark brown walls. Fun to see the same room with 2 different paint colors!
If you don't already know, Julie LoRusso, a fab jewelry designer, is having a jewelry giveaway to celebrate the one year anniversary of her blog Monkey Grass Hill. Be sure to head over and enter. While you're there also check out the slipcovers she's making for her sunroom chairs.

yes that art work is wonderful and it makes the room but we are as wild about the bookcase.

I love this room. Modern but cozy. I am usually not a lover of white walls but I think I actually like it better in this room. Have a great day.

It would be a hard choice which of the two room colors is my favorite. They are both stunning.

I love this amazing space. And just when I didn't think it could look better, you showed version 2! I would have to say that I love the dark brown walls version best! Please visit my blog entry "My favorite color palette" where I also talk about pairing a dark brown sofa with the same color wall!

Thank you for posting both pictures - I am looking for ideas for a small den/study - this might be perfect!

Michele,
I love the room! I believe I like the brown walls, but I see more of the decor in the white room.
Hope your week is going well.

Hi Michele, LOVE that room, both ways! The art is so strong and really makes an impact, but the books and furnishings make it cozy as well.Great images.

Love that room, the eclectic pieces that feel like they all have a story, the bookcases, the mix of textures (the fabric on the sofa is fab) colors and overall feel of the room. I JUST stumbled upon the room with the darker walls and used as an example. Very fun to see the lighter version, though I am leaning towards the richness and warmth of the darker one. Both lovely for sure. xo

Fantastic blog you have here! Just found you on a search for rugs :) Loving this room and the fact that we get to see it with two different shades! That's awesome.
