High Contrast Interior Lattice

One of my favorite rooms from the 2010 Richmond Symphony Designer Showhouse was the sunroom designed by Kathy Morgan and Kevin Malone of Williams & Sherrills. They made the bold choice to take the existing white-on-white lattice and transform it into a show stopping surround for the whole room. Chinoiserie fabrics and accessories add to the energy and vibrant feel of the space. Hats off too to the painters who did such a perfect job!

On another note, Wanda Crossley of Matthews House and Garden has started her own blog! You'll remember Wanda as the amazing designer who transformed an old Upperville, VA church into an incredible design shop. Hope you'll have a chance to stop by her blog and say hello.

Awesome room. Very bold and brave. Like something that Dorothy Draper would have done.

I bet the painters were slightly cross-eyed after a while!

The effect is stunning.

i do love this.
but all i can think of
is how you would need a special brush
to keep the lattice dust free.
i am not a great 'duster' as it is.

but it is incredibly charming.
i would love a week there for sure.
xx

I'm so interested in the lattice idea. I did a post some months back on just this subject (of a foyer) for a possible idea for my house but haven't had the nerve to do it!

This was my favorite room too! Kevin designed my son and DIL's home in Richmond and he did a fabulous job. You can see pictures on my blog here http://nominimalisthere.blogspot.com/2011/05/giveaway-and-apology.html
