Staple Your Walls

Forget drawing on walls. DC designer Chad Alan added an interesting twist to the wallpaper in the bedroom he designed for the DC Design Center Dream Home 2011 by getting out the staple gun and creating a flowing pattern on the walls. My photos are a bit on the dark side so it doesn't quite do the look he created justice. I'm a fan. Have you ever seen this done before?

Really love this idea, and any idea where you're taking something usually thought of as ugly and non-décory but making it be so very high design.
The staples was a phenom idea for a showhouse, since no one was living in the room and it served more as an 'art piece' statement.

Something like this looks great in a highly designed beautifully decorated showhouse. In most people's homes I'm afraid it would just look like staples in the wall and very home-made. Do not try this at home in other words. Unless, of course it stops you from tearing the covers off of books and tying a bundle of them together with twine.

Never seen this done....might be a bit of a "fix" when changing styles...smiles.

What I love it the metallic sheen this brought to the dark walls. I am amazed by the creativity of this treatment. Have never seen this before!!

really creative.... I love it. It reminds me (in theory anyway) of push pin art. I'd maybe try it in a powder room.

Very creative indeed. i love this type of "out of the box" inspirations. It must have taken him hours. I have never used wall covering other than shallack, paint, lacquer or tadelack on walls, and for the first installed a seagrass type paper in a study and love it! i have no idea why it took me so long....your post just proved that point, take risks and be daring...it works

I have never seen staples used on a wall for this purpose. Very unique! Gotta try this!

I'm glad you featured this. I haven't seen news about it in any other place. Very original and gutsy, but I don't think I'd have the patience.

This is really new and a unique way of designing your walls but I think it can lead to easier deterioration of your wall because of too much tiny holes? But I couldn't help but notice your room lighting, that lamp is really nice.
