Entry Drama & a book recommendation

This stunning black and white entry is from the Hampton home of 1st dibs founder Michael Bruno. The coffered walls are painted a high gloss black and the steps alternate between white and black. To me, the styling of the demilune table is perfection.

This image is from a Benjamin Moore book, Interior Style: How to Use Color Throughout Your Home. Published back in 2004, it is full (and I mean full) of great eye candy. I also love how they take a color and then show you 7 variations/types of that color along with corresponding BM paint colors. The soft, laminated cover makes it perfect for beach reading!
Both photographs by Tim Street-Porter.

Love seeing the entry to this home. I posted pictures of the rest of this space last week. I ran across a 2002 issue of Elle Decor at an antique store and his Paris apartment was featured in it. Love his style!

The black wall paneling is stunning! I love the alternation between black and white in the stair case, although I wouldn't want to be the one having to keep the white steps clean. Ha ha!

One of my all time favorite rooms I've seen was a dining room with white trim and black wall and a mix of contemporary and traditional furnishing, it was quite stunning, so I totally get your image here! On a side note I have a mystery giveaway going on my art blog case you read your comments before Friday. Hope your 4th was fabulous.

Lovely black lacquered walls although I'm not sure I get why the steps alternate in color. Since the white one disappears visually, it seems to be missing some. :)

Curiosity did kill the Cat. However, the black entryway makes us want to venture up the staircase to see what is hidden up the stairs. Very intriguing!

Boy would I love to replicate that stairway, gorgeous.
With it's simple railing it just oozes class.

Thanks for the suggestion about the book too.
