Topless Americana
Sometimes you see things you'd only see here in America. These teenage boys have solved the problem of wanting a convertible car without have the funds to procure one. They just cut off the top of a regular car and added in a new windshield ( a very low one at that). Oh, and a back bumper made of wood.

"Teenagers: from New Hampshire, where this car passed inspection." Ha! This really made me laugh - my parents live in NH, and it seems like pretty much anything goes up there! Thanks for sharing.

Funny! Nothing like a little American ingenuity!
One of my greatest regrets is that years ago I sold my vintage 1967 Mercedes 250SL convertible, that was in triple mint condition. Midnight blue exterior, dove gray leather interior, with its original sisal floor mats. Not only was it a rather expensive toy at the time, but I only rarely drove it, and I had the rather pressing need to put a new roof on our house. Fortunately I sold it to a beautiful blonde woman who lived in San Francisco, where it now happily lives. Ah, well.
Love topless Americana. What a hoot. Safe and sound on Cape Cod.
Happy Fourth. Woohoo.

Cutest convertible car I've seen....xv
Ha! This brings back memories! My husband had a '73-ish Thunderbird that he and his friends cut the top off while in college. Our first dates were in that car. The AC and power windows still worked fine. We once drove it to Canada (we're in N.D.) and although we did get a pretty throrough search at the border, they let us cross. The best was when it rained, you could hunker down, snuggle close and the rain would come up over the windshield and miss you in the front seat. So many good times in that car!
