From the Stacks: A Fav Kitchen & more

In truth, this is from my tear sheets and that's why I don't know the photographer to credit but I'm fairly sure the designer is Chicago based designer Athalie Derse (House Beautiful Aug 2005.) This is one of my all time favorite kitchens - really more of a cooking room with a casual seating and meal prep area blended so nicely together. Always have thought too that the black print hanging over the fireplace plays so nicely off the counters and coffee table.
Perfect chairs - simple and floral, happily coinciding in the same space.
Ikat before the trend. Hope you're having a great week.

  1. A white kitchen just never goes out of style, does it? Beautiful! So nice to be reminded of the timelessness of good design.

  2. The open kitchen to sitting area is done very well in this home. Ample light, cozy fireplace, high ceilings - hmm, just need a great bottle of wine to open while cooking.

  7. I love that simple cotton rug (looks like cotton or some kind of Dash and Albert variation) in the first picture. While I think statement rugs are AMAZEbuckets, I also love really well done simple ones.
