I'd Like a Sink Like This...

I'd like a marble sink like this. I'm assuming this is custom. Has anyone ever had one like this made for them? (From the home of designer Christina Murphy, New York Social Diary here, photography by Jeff Hirsch)

So would I! Actually, I'll settle for the whole bathroom.

I love that sink. I would assume its custom. Maybe a really good granite or tile place could put that together for you?

That's a beautiful sink. I don't have one, but (like a lot of people) have a white marble countertop and a standard porcelain sink. The marble has staining around the edge and the faucets from minerals in the water. Have had it for about 10 years and not sure I'd go with marble again around the sink. Although, the stone sealing products have probably improved over the past 10 years.

I imagine this would be the same process as making a soapstone sink ... Very cool!

any stone yard can do this for you and waterworks supplies them. They're not cheap (esp at waterworks) but they're less than you might think depending on the stone and how it's made (one thick slab or pieced & glued together)

Lovely sink, although a bit too modern for me. Wish she'd put the toilet lid down before taking the snap!

I like the fact that it is off-centered so there is room on one side for all the items one needs on a vanity. Really pretty.

So gorgeous. I've had this done out of limestone before. A good granite/marble fabricator can do them. Love the calacatta.

Fabulous sink- I'll take one too, thank you! The whole bath is wonderful (except for the seat up on the toilet- can't believe no one caught that;)-love the tile around the tub.

Gorgeous. Never seen anything like it. Must be custom.

If you find out, will you share? I would love to know since we have all the fixtures ripped out of our guest bathroom for a re-do and this actually looks like it would fit perfectly in the space we have.

Order me one, too. It is fabulous.

Love the simplicity and the purity of this sink! Just gorgeous. Would love to know how much it would cost to make.
Happy Monday.

I like that marble sink a lot more than those silly bowl-on-the-table sinks they are making these days. That's such a fad. Things are 'classic' for a reason; they look good. Looking good never goes out of style.

That is one gorgeous sink! Marble sinks truly add a distinctive note of elegance and sophistication to a bathroom. Clearly, there’s no room for debris, and falling hair or pea sized toothpaste on this gorgeous sink. This type, however, is very porous, which means it easily picks up dirt and stains. To clean marble sinks, avoid cleaners which contain acids because it is vulnerable to damage.
