Back in September I mentioned buying 1 yard of peacock blue mohair at Scotts. Originally the idea was to make two pillows but then as Thanksgiving neared the idea of decorating my son's vacated bedroom as a guest room took front stage. However, 1 yard of mohair does not 2 twin headboards make!
Carefully placed greek key trim hides the seem.
Here's his new room in our renovated basement (which is coming along...) He requested yellow, which I wasn't sure about, but it turned out really well. BTW, it's so much easier painting before all the trimwork goes up. His new bedroom is 13 x 12 1/2 ft w/two windows that are fully above ground so there's alot of light. More on the renovation in the next few weeks.
I love a blue and grey color scheme-so sophisticated. Bravo on getting that headboard together too!
ReplyDeleteThe headboard is very nice. I love that you showed the "before" room. I've got a few of those that I get to de-teen-ify next year.

Love it! smart thinking on the headboard! My son's room is still so 10 years ago, and waiting for him to move on so I can decorate it my way!
