Last Saturday my husband, daughter and I went on a road trip to my favorite fabric place - Haute Fabrics in Marshall, VA. Not sure how Julia and I convinced Dan to come w/us - I should have taken notes for next time. So, what did we score? Julia has a great eye and picked out the dusty pink Vervain chinoiserie silk above (in the middle) for drapes for her bedroom. It's even more beautiful and sophisticated than this photo shows.
Love this zig zag.
Beautiful blues.
Geometrics and florals.
Walls and walls of trim.
In this room I found a super soft Schumacher mohair in this gorgeous shade of green. I'm planning to put that on a a bench in the library/dining room with the floral I bought for drapes.
that green is completely smashing with the floral.
ReplyDeletethis is gonna be fun...donna
I still haven't been. It looks like heaven. I think I am officially excited about your dining room. The fabrics you chose are marvelous.
ReplyDeletenow a trip there would leave me weak.

You are making it very difficult for this fabric addict to be comfortable with herself this morning. :)
ReplyDeleteI will definitely have to plan a trip to Marshall to see this for myself.
It looks MORE organized than it was when I visited about a year ago.
ReplyDeleteI love that place...I called it a fabric hoard. :)
We have nothing remotely like that here. If you want to buy any kind of a posh brand or fabric, you have to find it in a little tiny book of swatches and pay $120/yard or more. Looks like we need to go to VA again - haha.
ReplyDeleteShocked your husband came along. Whenever David comes on adventures like this, I end up rushing as he acts so bored.

Haute is unbelievable, isn't it? Sometimes overwhelming unless you have a plan. Love your finds. Have fun creating with them!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.

That green will be gorgeous on a bench! What a great find
ReplyDeleteMichele - is Haute pretty reasonable outside of their massive sales? we went last summer thanks to your informtaion on it - and it was FANTASTIC. but i was wondering what the prices were like on the regular. hence, how much does the pricing help offset the cost to drive out there ;)
ReplyDeleteoh oh oh - ps - LOVE the idea of green in that room with the floral :)
ReplyDeleteSOOOOO worth the drive! I love that place! I was out there a few weeks ago and find so many wonderful fabrics.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
