I like to remind myself of that on winter mornings like these, when I'm up and about before the furnace has kicked-in to take the evening chill away. Do you economize like that - set your thermostat a bit lower while everyone's a sleep?
This beautiful garden is from
Briger + Briger, they're still on my mind, first post about them
here. The more I look at it the more I think someone should paint this scene. Hope your week gets off to a warm start.
I am longing for spring too. Thankfully this week we've had lots of sunny days in spite of the temperatures being low. Hope you have a great start to your week.
ReplyDeleteI need spring to get here extra early this year. This winter is a really hard one.
ReplyDeleteAn all important reminder (perhaps a bit of a tease) on these extra-cold winter days.
ReplyDeleteI am really looking forward to warmer weather. I also, turn down the heat at night which makes my cold-hating self have a few less than stellar mornings.
ReplyDeleteOh yes...I turn that sucker way down as I like it cold when I sleep....on the flip side when I wake up....whoeeee it's freezing!
ReplyDeleteI like it cooler when I sleep, so yes we turn down the thermostat. Yesterday in Kansas it was 57 and then over the course of the day, it took the windy elevator down to 5. We did not the get foot of snow. Small comforts.
ReplyDeleteWHat I wouldn't give for a fabulous garden..one the likes of this post or maybe even some English or French beauty. Well at this point I would just love to see grass!!

Thank you for this. I need this reminder too as I thaw from being outside in the 5 degree weather.
ReplyDeleteI was looking forward to moving to South Carolina on Wednesday...until I found out that they're calling for 18 inches of snow!!! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteyes - if we didn't the heat bills would be astronomical! Bob just got one of those 'nests' so while we were away in Phoenix had the heat down to 55 and it was so cold out that even with that we could track from our cell phones that the heater ran 6 hours a day! When our plane landed last night the first thing we did was put the heat up to 68 so that it would be warm when we got home from the airport!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh its been so cold here in Tennessee - much colder than normal - and I hate it! WE usually turn our thermostat down to about 65 while we sleep and its fine until it's time to get out of bed! Luckily my husband gets up before me so he turns the heat up and its warm when I get out of bed.
ReplyDeleteWe do that - set the temp lower overnight. I set it to kick back up about fifteen minutes before the first of us gets up.
ReplyDeleteThis has been a tough winter so far.
Yesterday I could have hope that Spring is near but back in to the gray windy deep freeze today! Ugh I'm over it! after this install this weekend my schedule should free up and I'd love to have coffee or lunch soon! Xo Nancy
ReplyDeleteI've been doing 70 when I'm home, 62 while I'm away and during the night. It's been so cold that's I've had to push the 70 up to 72 to offset the drafts when it's so cold.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to warmer weather.
