If you've been waiting to see what Lauren Liess' house looks like, the wait is over - the new issue of Domino is out! It's classic Lauren, a mix of neutrals and texture, with a celebration of natural elements throughout. Here's just a few scans from the feature on Lauren's beautiful, chic home. (photographs by Brittany Ambridge, text by Brittany S. Chevalier)
The kitchen features a mix of metals and a collection of favorite paintings over the sink.
Breakfast room
Lauren added a cedar ceiling to the dining room to create a cozy feel.
The loft is my favorite room, absolutely love the color of that sofa and the pillows on the window seat. Big DIY takeaway as well - the shelves are made from Ikea butcher block countertops!
This new issue of Domino is full of inspiration - heavy on the features and interiors with only a few ads here and there. In my opinion, absolutely worth the $11.99 price tag.
Hope you have a great weekend. If you're in the DC area, it's the Bear Bones Tour this Saturday March 1st for the DC Design House. (aka Bare Bones Tour, Bear is a cute play on The Children's Hospital mascot)

Love this, thanks for posting!
ReplyDeleteHer loft sofa is a dream just wish it wasn't $9k!
I really love Lauren's style. She should have features in every magazines, seriously. Such a talent who balances new & old and high & low like no other!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, Michele.
Michele!! Just catching up on reading this morning and was so surprised to see this wonderful post!!! :) Thank you SO much for the mention and can't wait for you to come see it in person.

So relaxed yet very chic! Love it!
ReplyDeleteWay to get a jump on Lauren's feature!!! Gotta get the magazine today. This is such a warm and beautiful home, and she is absolutely one of our favorite designers! So happy to see all of it and it is more gorgeous than we could have imagined, but expected so. Have a great weekend Michele! xo Nancy
ReplyDeleteNancy - My husband found the issue at Harris Teeter! Michele
ReplyDeletehave you been to the design house yet? It's the most WONDERFUL and beautiful house right up near my apartment really.... Maybe I'll go check it out again!
ReplyDeleteLauren's house is as charming as one would expect - what a great house to raise a family in!
Haven't picked up this issue yet... Lauren's home is visually stunning, beautiful color palate and has mastered the difficult skill of standing back and deciding when the room is done and uncluttered. Love it.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend. Design house tour... Sounds delightful.

Congratulations to Lauren on her beautiful home. How generous of her to share how she made her bookshelves.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend

I love Lauren - love her blog, love her designs. Based on these pictures, I'm not loving her house. But I would say it's a problem with Domino, not with Lauren. The house just looks lifeless. Beige on white on tan on mustard. It's all basically the same but not in an engaging way the way neutral homes can be. Where is the life? Where is all the green that she loves? Even the flowers that are there are subdued.
ReplyDeleteGreat feature! Love her!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited to see this! I will be buying my issue ASAP. Did you notice that her dining room fixture is the one that I was obsessing about last fall for my Beach House dining room. Interesting!
ReplyDeleteHoly smokes....I adore her style. That loft area is pretty damn perfect!
ReplyDeleteMichelle- THANK YOU! I've been searching for a copy of Domino in New York and this is my little preview!
ReplyDeleteThese photographs are just amazing! All the rooms look fantastic. The cedar ceiling is just stunning.
Love. love. love!
Loretta
Oh, how exciting! Lauren is the cat's meow.
ReplyDeleteLove love love. Tres Lauren...

I'm gasping over the fixture in the first photo. Wow. And Barnes and Noble is in my future today : ) Thanks, Michelle!
ReplyDeleteDitto the other comment that I LOVE Lauren, love everything about her style...but this feature feels flat and lifeless, not the organic, comfortable and green I've come to expect from her. Oh well, hopefully she will post additional pictures on her blog which will make me change my mind!
ReplyDeleteThe house looks amazing, doesn't it?! So happy for her. Hoping to get down to DC soon...
ReplyDeleteEddie
my sister and I were both just talking about this....we love Lauren and her style.
ReplyDeleteDomino too.
