It's been a long, long winter and I know my house is in need of a good old fashioned spring cleaning. This book
Home Comforts: The Art and Science of Keeping House was given to me many years ago and I love it; the perfect balance of practical tips for cleaning pretty much everything with inspiration and a bit of philosophy thrown in. My favorite part is when she compares her Italian and Anglo-American grandmothers and their different approaches to caring for their homes. (right now Amazon has used copies for 83 cents!)
The other thing motivating me this new scent of Method spray -
Method All Purpose Natural Surface Cleaning Spray Ginger Yuzu -- 28 fl oz
. I like it even better than their grapefruit version.
So I'm curious, do you do a big spring cleaning?

Dang I was hoping you'd come do it for me. I need HUGE inspiration to spring clean, or clean for that matter. I can stage, straighten, decorate and design, but cleaning is last on my list. I do get it done, but begrudgingly. I haven't tried Method cleaners, yet- it's on my list. Have a great weekend! xo Nancy
Itend to deep clean one room at a time, any time of year. I liked the Method cucumber spray cleaner. I have been hooked on Mrs. Meyers cleaners for a while.
I love Method products. Yes I do a Spring and Fall clean.
I constantly try to keep the house clean so in Spring and fall it's usually window cleaning, lawn and the garden that requires most of the work.
Happy Spring,
Vera
Spring cleaning happens only in the garden around here. The house gets a lick and a promise most of the time. Fortunately, we keep things fairly tidy in the most-used portions of our house ... the other parts will get done when I feel like it.
I love Method products, too. Haven't tried this cleaner, but I now intend to. (If you really want a scent experience, go to Target and get the Lavender castille liquid soap .... oh, my, heavenly!)
I love Ginger I have to go get some of that today!! I cant wait to open the windows here, but its still a bit chilly!!
I have been doing a series of cleaning...which starts after Christmas. You are full of good tips.
An informative book would be a good thing to draw your inspirations from. I hope you had a happy spring cleaning with the aid of this material. Excellent tips and instruction would be a great help when you are faced with such a huge cleaning task. Dave @ Chem-Dry
