To celebrate my 50th birthday this summer, our family is going on a 16 day trip in June - 3 nights in London, a flight to Santorini, Greece for 4 nights, quick flight to Rome for 2 nights, then 3 nights in Florence and 3 nights in Venice. Although we found a wonderful hotel in Santorini, since we're traveling with our 20 and 15 yr old, it was hard to find hotel accommodations that work and are cost effective. The rest of the trip we'll be staying in apartments and I can't wait to stay at this one in Venice found via airbnb (*back from the trip - feel free to contact the owner via a message the apt's Facebook; we has a wonderful stay there!) I think a decorator or someone passionate about design had their hand in the furnishings and styling of this 3 bed, 2 bath accommodation.
Love how this kitchen is housed in a cabinet - very smart.

Always wanted to go to Venice -this apartment looks wonderful! We always rent an apartment when we go to paris and its the best way to experience a city ( and economical! )
You're not going to believe this, but we leave for Venice on the 10th!
We are also going to Rome, Tuscany, Chianti, and Florence. How crazy would it be to run into you?! Have the best time!

This is awesome. We stay at the Danieli. It's fun just to get lost and go to museums and take a water taxi to dinner.

And have an amazing time in Santorini! That was one of our stops on our honeymoon in Greece and we've already planned to head back to that spot of heaven for our 5th anniversary.

Go to Torcello. Avoid the Gypsy/Roma pickpockets. Don't eat the squid in black ink. Do have a gondolier take you, your other, and a bottle of good champagne for a long trip down through the canals. Take a length of rope so that the bottle can be chilled in the Grand Canal. Drink the champagne by moonlight. Glasses optional.
I haven't been to Venice since high school but it was my favorite place ever.

What an amazing apartment! This is will be such an amazing trip. I ws also looking at airbnb for Paris for the three nights in July and ended up using Paris perfect. The one tip about Venice - if you have the time you have to go to Torcello. It is a little island nearby with the original Cipriani restaurant and a beautiful Bizantine church. It was my favorite outing during our stay.
