Back in 2009 I noticed this weather worn cottage on Wolfe Island, CA (Thousand Islands) and wondered how it would be with a little TLC. Well, somebody thought the same and fixed it up in the most charming way.
I came across it while checking out vrbo. The homeowner has covered the walls in an on-trend and classic horizontal planking and added cheerful touches throughout, like this bright green door on the upstairs landing.
Rag rugs on the painted floors are charming.
A cozy living room for conversation and watching the boats go by.
If you've never been to the Thousand Islands, be sure to add it to your bucket list!
Those bright doors are just so charming! Makes me want to repaint my doors :)

Charming cottage, I applaud the bold door color choice! Wish everyone understood a bit of boldness elevates a neutral decor to be more appreciated.
ReplyDeleteWOW! Leave it to VRBO! What a joyful place they made that home. Perfect vibe for a relaxed vacation.

What a view! A great project!
ReplyDeleteI've had two wonderful sojourns in Kingston - one of four years and one of two years. Wolfe Island was always a weekend destination, and we were lucky enough to have friends there with an old cottage. The Thousand Islands are so very beautiful, and I miss that part of my country sometimes - especially in the fall.
