More terrific news - DC designer
Paul Corrie was selected by Metropolitan Home as one of their Top 20 favorite "Young Designers" for 2009 - another well deserved recogniton! (so happy that was published before they closed) Paul was the second designer I featured in the DC Designer Series and "restrained, elegant and intriguing" were the words that came to mind when I wrote about his work. I am a big fan of Sally's - That dining room is unforgettable. Can't wait to explore the other portfolios.
ReplyDeleteI can certainly see why they were chosen. Beautiful rooms. Looking forward to seeing more of their work. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletehugs ~lynne~
Big congratulations to Sally! Well deserved indeed!
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of Sally, thanks to you, and also have admired Paul Corrie's work, which is so fresh but classic at the same time. I did notice Sally's mention in HB.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on my HGTV post! I am excited about my wee side job. Always wanted to get paid to write, though it is not much. The day job will have to stay. haha. That shop is gorgeous and I covet everything in it - also expensive!
I love to write shop reviews and had been planning to do it forever, but didn't want my blog to go too local - just not enough of a community here, so I didn't want to alienate readers around the world. So this let's me do both and will bring some more attention to Calgary shops. There are very few gems here - after writing about a dozen reviews, I will start to run short but then will have to cover the more generic shops (which still have some finds from time to time).

oops - Sally just let me know the chandelier is the Avignon from Nierman Weeks. Thanks Sally!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love Sally - and have you to thank for 'discovering' her. I thought that her bio/decription was the best of the bunch - her happiness and passion for her work (joy too) shines right through!
ReplyDeleteI especially love this post because I had the pleasure of attending high school with both Paul and Sally. Love them both! Thanks for featuring them -- the sky is the limit for those two!
ReplyDeleteDo you know where that mirror can be found?
