Hello 2008!
these images from Canadian House and Home via poppytalk, an awesome Canadian design blog
Canadian House and Home - one of my all time favorite magazines. Since 2000 I have eagerly awaited the arrival of House and Home every month. They offer a wonderful balance of transitional, traditional and modern style from a cadre of talented Canadian designers. I often notice new trends featured from the Canadian point of view appearing in American magazines a few months later - maybe it's Canada's connection to England and France? Cobi Ladner, the Editor, has a warm, personal style and it is great fun when she shares her own tribulations and successes with her family's home.
Cobi Ladner's prediction for home trends in the coming year "Well, I can feel it: there's a movement afoot, and it has nothing to do with modernity, efficiency or making "informed" decisions. It has to do more with fulfillment, happiness and fun. Colour and pattern are back." Their 2008 trend predictions:
1. forest
2. jewel box
3. casino
4. granny chic
5. modern baby
6. fair trade
7. neo-classical
8. root vegetable
9. global textiles
10. hot & cold
p.s. Canadian House and Home offers a terrific "green" option - a digital subscription to the magazine. http://www.houseandhome.com/

Help! There was no link to the top 10 design trends! What were they?
Hi - I couldn't find a link within House & Home. I think when they went to their digital subscription option they reduced access to content in their archived issues. However, I've listed the trends and via the wonderful Canadian blog poppytalk.blogspot.com I've posted images and a link to poppytalk'ss overview of the trends. Thanks for visiting my blog!
