I was really taken in with the results of this simple but very effective solution. Before local DC artist Greg Gill deftly faux painted these switch plates, they were a distraction from the diamond tiled backsplash. Now they blend in beautifully! Below are some additional examples of his work.
Love the tree in the corner of this room - it really expands the space.
Currently Greg doesn't have a web site. If you're interested in contact info, let me know.

LOVE this post! I have a black and white tile back splash and the electrician put the outlets and switches right in the middle of the tile in several different spots - it has made me crazy since the day we moved it! You have solved the problem for me - thank you so much!
What an ingenious idea! Who would have thought it... I have one of those switchplates in my kitchen that stand out like a sore thumb too. Now I know what to do with it! Thanks for the post!

I wonder what he would charge to just do a few switchplates, great idea!
Really interesting work Greg does. I love the Bird in the tree design! Hayley
I let go of the decorative painting part of my design business to focus on my illustration so I would love for Greg to contact me and I can give him a list of tips for his decorative business. Nice work!

Excellent ideas! I also have a plan to do something unique with my walls and switch plates. Can you help me in this matter?
