Eye Candy from John Jacob Interiors
I'm cheating a bit because I posted the above picture back in July - but this could be one of my all time favorite rooms. Maria Killam of Colour Me Happy recently did a post on when accent walls work and I think this brown grasscloth accent wall is perfection in this room. I was introduced to South African designer John Jacob Zwiegelaar via Porchlight Interiors and often visit their site to see what's new. The following are more gorgeous images of his work. I love the top room as well and have studied it relentlessly. This room started my lamp fetish- in this space alone there are 7 lamps PLUS the overhead fixture. I agree- normally accent walls are a no for me but this one works.
Thanks for the mention!! This room is just like the lavender room I posted in terms of being symetrical so that's why the accent wall works!! Beautiful post, thank you!
looks peaceful and relaxing and an escape...
great posting...especially at this time of the year when everyone is so busy busy busy...
Fantastic. I love everything about these photos. The white is so strong! And I agree with you about the accent wall-it's done right in the top photo. Thanks for re-sharing this amazing designer.
The first picture is my favorite. Love the brown accent wall. Just gorgeous. I'm going to check him out more thoroughly. --Delores
So glad you posted this again, as I missed it the first time. It is so beautiful and definitely worth repeating!
I love that his work is masculine, yet pretty. Also contemporary but still traditional. Lovely
What beautiful images. I love them. I have just discovered your blog and I love it. I will definitely be back. I can only hope my blog, will one day, be as successful.

I see why that first photo is your dream room, Michele! It's the picture of warmth and coziness. Merry Christmas!
Wonderfully fabulous images!! I love the chandelier, and the lavender room, is great as Maria says!
I can imagine myself watching American Idol in the first room...if there were a flat screen over the fireplace...perfect.
Thank you for another year filled with inspiration...Happy New Year.
