Gourmet Tonic Water - Yes or No?

A well made Gin & Tonic can really hit the spot on a muggy summer evening. Recently Dan brought home some gourmet tonic water to try. First up was Q Tonic...
next up Fever Tree...they were fine but I missed the way my Gin & Tonic tasted when made with the old stand-by Canada Dry. So for me it was a no.

Considering how pricey each bottle was, I decided to put them to use as a home accessory -
Plus, I've changed my mind. My drink of choice for Summer 2010 is a Bourbon & Ginger Ale. Canada Dry of course.

Oh, this is so timely! I recently searched and searched to find the QTonic, only to go :O when I found it for $7.50 a bottle! I walked. I'm sure I will go back and get a bottle to try, as I do like the fact there's no high fructose yuck in it, but thought I will finish my CDry stash first!
Your bourbon & ginger ale sounds fab-u, so will have to pick up some ale on our next outing!!
I am glad to know your thoughts on the $$$ tonic!
And, you have a "Dan" too!!:)

And here I am with my Safeway brand tonic. Perhaps I'm not worthy of even reading your blog sigh...

I have purchased Fever Tree for the hubby to mix his G&T's. He states that he can notice no difference from Schweppes or Canada Dry. He does, however drink Hendricks Gin. So, my vote is a no.

Yum - bourbon and ginger ale. For my gin and tonics, though, think I will stick with regular tonic.....although, the bottles of the QTonic are pretty!

The bottles are pretty. I've been on a "skinny girl margarita" kick lately (with fresh squeezed limes/lemons). You could use your Anthro juicer/pitcher combo :)

I would have bought them just for the look of the bottle. Love 'em!

I spent 7 dollars a bottle last Christmas for designer Perrier bottles...don't know why.

I wonder how many bottles of Knob Creek have been sold to designers...lol

Your bar looks great :) It was worth it!!

Best,
Michell

Haute tonic water is a bit silly, but it certainly does dress your bar up nicely!
I must try your bourbon and ginger ale, because I have been really into red label and ginger beer. Have you every tried ginger beer? Its ultra gingery, so refreshing!!

I'm a bourbon girl myself from time to time. Recruited by mother-in-law from Kentucky...although she doesn't like to ruin her bourbon with anything but ice.
