This bush died twice; the first one and the replacement one from the nursery. For a few years it lived outside like a little grave marker until I finally brought it in and placed it in this concrete pot. It's next to the secretary in my family room. (I've hardly ever posted on this room as it's been in flux. It's finally starting to come together so I'll be showing more soon. Not that you've been waiting.)
At some point I thought this side of the room needed a bit of red too so out came the Safety Red spray paint.
If you don't like it, nobody in my family does either. But here's my question, what should I put around my burning bush? I think moss will only make it look a bit like Christmas - what do you suggest?

dried angel vine. it is what we use in the shop and love it! most floral supply shops will have it

If you placed it in a smaller tub, (or cache pot) it would almost have the effect of branches of red coral.
You could fill the pot with river rocks or stones.

I think some of the hanging-type moss (as from trees in the South) would cancel out the "Christmassy" look should you use green moss.
We have lots of burning bushes at our homes, LOL. Great idea. We agree that green would not work. Since it does sort of look like coral, maybe your could try placing it in a clear vase or container with sea shells in the vase and the red branches stuck into the shells. You could mix white coral, sea shells or star fish in the bottom of the vase.
I love it, but thing it needs to be raised in the pot (which I also love;) to give it more height and impact in the room. So, maybe a pot (up side down) then sent the branches on the pot, then tuck spanish moss (not green), which is really the color of your pot, deep in to just cover/hide the bottoms of the stems and I don't even think you will notice it.

I like the red! Perhaps it needs more of it, for such a big container.
A bunch of logs - from that peeling white bark tree, name escapes me just now - would also look great.

Love the coral, but make it taller if you keep it in that pot. Maybe another branch or two for height. I like the idea of putting it in a glass vase with shells.
More of the branches and a little higher as some said...or come cedar logs, or just a few pillows tucked in there for color maybe.
What is the botanical name of this plant? I've wanted to have something like this in my garden but have resisted as it could grow out of control. However, in a pot it would give a great splash of colour!
