Eye Candy & Painting Chaos

Posting about House & Home's 2013 trends, Powell Brower Home featured this interior under the trend Fearless Mixing. Although I'm not a huge fan of orange, I find the mix in this room most interesting.

While the "mix" in this room is just plain crazy.  When I paint, everything in the perimeter of the room ends up in a jumbled mess in the middle.  So far I'm loving Calke Green in our library/dining room- hoping to have it all done this weekend.

I feel for you with the painting ... especially cutting in around all that trim and cabinetry. Keep your eye on the finish line. What you have so far looks great!

Looks great! Most people are not as brave as you with posting reality of projects in progress. It will all be worth it in the end.

The green looks so fresh! Painting always takes longer than you think it will.

Funny, I've never really liked orange either. But I've been in orange rooms, vibrant ones, that have taken my breath away.

Looks like fun :) And a lot like our home. We are always working on a project and painting! Love the green, Michele.

Redoing a room is like breaking eggs to create an omelet. It's messy at first, but the end result...oolala! I'm certain you will produce an excellent omelet!

Since green is always my preference, I love your chosen color. But...a touch of orange for fall and winter would be inspired.

Can't wait to see the room in all it's glory.

I love the Calke Green color! It’s not because green is one of my favorite colors, it’s truly a lovely sight around your kitchen. In fact, green is considered to be the most restful color. At the same time, it signifies harmony. :)
