Sneak Peek Veranda - Frank Babb Randolph!
Sneak peeks are the best and this one is a stunning standout. Veranda's March/April issue features the Georgetown home of designer Frank Babb Randolph. The look and feel is ethereal; light filled rooms are wrapped in layers of soft neutrals with touches of pastel accents. The classic design feels right at home in our nation's capital and Randolph beautifully mixes contemporary art with French, English and American antiques.
Symmetry, unexpected art, unique accessories, and repetition of color - love it all!
Simple at first glance but then you notice the details - especially that extra tall headboard with the neutral patterned fabric. I've seen all the images (could only feature three here) and can tell you it's a real treat! Can not wait for this issue to arrive in my mailbox...
Frank Babb Randolph is one of my favourite designers. I can hardly wait for the new Veranda! What a treat!
ReplyDeleteMichelle- What a treat! I will look for the issue. Those twin orange chairs are beautiful!

Dreamy tones!
ReplyDeleteI love Frank and am so glad he redecorated -just so we could see the results! Were you on the Georgetown Housetour 5 years ago (maybe?) when his house was on the tour in it's last incarnation? So lovely!
ReplyDeletehe had me at 'grisaille screen' :)
ReplyDeleteJust when I was growing tired of all these pale, washed out rooms shown in every magazine...this beautiful house!
ReplyDeleteIf anyone has a 'light touch', it's Mr. Randolph!
Thanks for the peek, Michelle.
Cheers,
April

Beautiful and dreamy.
ReplyDeleteI have not seen very much of FBR's work published (have you??!), but the beautiful palette and the soft coral-colored chairs reminded me of his beautiful use of soft orange in the home of artist Robert Rea. For some reason now, I associate that particular soft orange with a very neutral palette with Frank Babb Randolph (and Suzanne Kasler)!
Cannot wait til my issue arrives.
