Open floor plans, where spaces flow into each other, can be the hardest to decorate. Designer Gretchen Mann unifies it all with white and touches of greenery throughout. I also love her choice of artwork with gilded frames. Fun camel too! Featured in Cottages & Gardens, photography by Peter Margonelli, more images here.
Hope you have a great long weekend.
I'll be finishing my dining room and shades for the guest room.
The sculptor in me has to have that camel!! I am in love with this room.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend.

so drawn to white, white walls right now, michelle, so this was just right for me today. the art collection in the first image is just right, too.
ReplyDeletesounds like you're getting a lot done at home; you are putting me to shame...
have a good weekend. donna
I would gladly give the camel to Teresa... but the rest of the room is to die for! I especially love the collection of paintings surrounded by all the clean, white space.
ReplyDeleteI've followed Gretchen Mann's career for years. She was one of the first designers to introduce old architectural elements into her design...old spindles, ballisters, gingerbread brackets, et al. She also mixed elegant gilded elements into her designs. Country Elegance was her hallmark.
Thanks for showing her latest work. I might be one of her oldest fans! :)

Looking forward to seeing your dining room.
ReplyDeleteWhite? I'm in. Always.
ReplyDeleteThat camel is a hoot!
Have a great weekend :)
I have a fascination with these one room layouts. Whenever I walk into a ralph Lauren store where they use that idea to great effect I always think " I could totally live like this". Lovely post. xx
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous... love the mixes of furniture... the all white... and somehow this kind of interior always makes me feel happy...
ReplyDeleteThe camel... I would probably put him outside...:)
Enjoy your weekend... xv
Vicki I agree, the room is gorgeous but the camel is quirky.
ReplyDeleteAll that white is fantastic. Looks so clean and open! My 1951 house is so much more compartmentalized and I'd love this open plan!
ReplyDeleteI am in love with this space!!! the camel is to die for. The space feels so inviting, airy and gives such great vibes... also inspired me to bring my large antique elephant from India from the attic into the Living Room.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty room...the art gallery makes it...and isn't that a cool planter on the left?
