Best Place to Stay in Venice - more details

Since I'm on a roll with places we stayed, here's some additional pics from the 3 bedroom apt in the Santa Croce neighborhood of Venice  (p.s.  - if you're headed to Venice, definitely check out this apt, everything about it was perfect)   First up the master bedroom - although completely remodeled, the apt has retained the charm of these wood beamed ceilings.

You can see off to the left, one of the 2 bathrooms in the apt.

Hallway off the kitchen/living room area.

2nd bedroom with a pretty upholster bed.

A door led out to a lovely, private patio.

Notice how large the door hinges are - added to the luxe feel of the space.

Back down the hallway by the master is the third bedroom.

The view from one of the flanking windows on either side of the front door. The apt is right on a charming, small canal - you could pretty much reach out and touch the passing gondolas from the living room windows.

  1. This is exactly how I want my future home to be - simple yet elegant. If I try to recreate it in my 1970s box like colonial, I don't think it will be as pretty. The beams, doors - when you live in a house with beautiful architectural details, you don't need much to add. I will have to remember this place for our future trip to Italy!

  4. Beautiful and the ceiling is magnificent... But honestly I would of sat at the window and been fixated on the canal view.

  6. Max - We stayed at Lolly Apt in the Santa Croce area of Florence. Like it very much and would stay there again:

It did have a tiny kitchen but we didn't cook while we were there. Here's some more pics:

  7. That is so cool, but not alot of natural light I suppose because the tall buildings are so close together that it blocks the sun. Beautiful simple decor, nice storage and space solutions! xo Nancy
