While searching for images of mixed metal finishes in a bathroom (post last week), I came across this brass and copper base Crane faucet on (The link to the etsy seller I purchased the faucet from has been removed as well as the images from the seller featuring the faucet that I viewed when making my decision to buy) - for $75, plus $20 shipping. On impulse ( is there any other way?) I bought it. The seller said it was c 1890 and I absolutely love the styling. The neck is a bit long, 8 inches, but I'll be doing a custom sink vanity so I think it will work. Of course, a day after I bought it, I realize I may end up needing to find some parts to adapt it to new plumbing...I've got my fingers crossed it will all work out. Has anyone had experience using really old faucets? Please tell me it was all good news!
Here's the color scheme I'm shooting for the in remodeled bathroom in our lower level.

I love it, it reminds me of the Henry collection at Waterworks. I know you will make it work.

Ah! I DIE!!! Nothing like a little hardware porn to start my day off right!
Hi Michele - That is a great faucet! Love the brass. I hope it works out for you.

If I had only known....I would have given you mine...that I had to junk because I could not find the parts. I hope your area has better access to those missing pieces!
Oh gosh, Michele! This faucet is absolutely perfect.
Can't wait to see the finished bath.
Hope that you are having a great week.

great find and even better price! I agree with Patricia - it is similar to the Henry line at waterworks. A good plumber will be able to jerry rig it easily -we do this often at work.
What a gorgeous faucet. I'm loving that antique brass is making a comeback.
Rachel Ashwell writes in her books that she uses old antique faucets and that the secret to making them work is finding a great plumber.
Good luck...it's a beauty.
ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!!
it's gorgeous. great find.
What a great find. it will look wonderful in your new kitchen.
Great buy. I've used old ones & any amazing plumber will either have a source for companion parts or a fabricator who'll make them.
No experience, but I would have bought it too...fabulous!! Can't wait to see...
Fantastic! If you were in my neck of the woods I would refer you to Mac the Antique Plumber to get you all of the details to get it working.
LOVE, love love the items you used for your color palette!!! That bracelet (?) is to die for.
What an AMAZING find!
OMG...love your find and I am sure you will strong arm someone into retro fitting it to work!!!
I've demo'd a lot of old faucet, but they were never anything of interest or value. I hope you can get it installed, It's bueatiful. And, I love the color scheme for the bath. Can't wait to see who it turns out!
I agree its beautiful! My only issue would be lead. It may not have any. But lad is common in older faucets. Please feel free to email me if you have any questions as I have had experince with lead poisoning.
holy smokies....had to become your newest follower when i spotted this fab faucet on your page (not sure how i ended up here, though!) and had to pin it! i'm in search of the same faucet for my future antique claw foot tub--you know, so i can relive my childhood every night of my adulthood!
keep us updated on the faucet adventures!
Mostly, it’s the old faucets which have that distinct design that is found by some people to be alluring and attractive. The design alone already dictates the aesthetic theme of your bathroom or kitchen. You just have to inspect it though, to see if it is still functioning. But yours looks good, so no need to worry about it. :)

Glad you and everyone liked my Antique Crane faucet "find" that I sold to you on Etsy. Yes, I gave you a steal of a deal, but you had no right to post the photos from my listing here on your blog site without my knowledge or permission. What a cheapskate! That is copyright theft. I demand that you remove my photos. I am sure you will not post my comment but you can be sure I will be checking to see that you remove my photos.
Looking a gift horse in the mouth.
