Our guest bedroom is a real room now. I made faux roman shades from a leftover Barbara Barry tweed (the pleated cell blinds remain behind for practical use). They aren't perfect but look less wonky in person than they do in these pics. I trimmed the bottom in the same greek key as the mohair headboard but truth be told, they hardly show up. Lesson learned: want your trim to be a feature, pick something with more contrast. It looked so pretty close-up but hung up on the window it practically disappears.
Currently looking for two round mirrors with a deep profile, one to go over each of the twin beds. Something like this Round Seaside Mirror from Wisteria. Since I have to buy two I'm looking for something less than the current sales price of $255 for this one. Any ideas??? I'm thinking I could just paint a plain mirror myself to get this look.
The walls are painted in Farrow & Ball French Gray and the ceilings are Sherwin Williams Fleur de Sel. The junk shop bureau was originally in our entry hall and is painted in Farrow & Ball Pavilion gray, edged in Pigeon for detail. Pillows have been changed out too.
BEFORE: Smaller Sferra Accent Pillow
NOW: Larger Tracy Porter Pillow
I showed this view in my recent post on small updates - this is the wall opposite the two twin beds. The door to the room and closet are off to the left. Feels good to be finished :)

I know it feels wonderful. you are a gal after my own heart. I know I used fleur de sel somewhere. I think it was in my own guest bedroom, only on the walls.
your room looks great, michelle.
My favorite color. I just painted one wall in one of the guest rooms gray (no name sale paint). We're having some new windows put in, it will be great!
So lovely, it has a English flair.. really a great space!

This room looks so pretty. Fresh, clean lines and very beautiful colors. Just looking at it gives me a comfortable feeling so I guess that's a good sign! :)
Absolutely fab. Could you find two round unfinished mirrors and apply some kind of aging texture to model the look of the more $$ Wisteria mirrors?
And I'm completely in love with the bureau. I would have never believed that came from a junk shop.
Just found a mirror that might work for you. http://www.wayfair.com/Cooper-Classics-Koch-Mirror-in-Distressed-Aged-Black-with-Merlot-and-Gold-Highlights-40005-CO1958.html
It's made of wood, about 22" across, the glass is beveled and "only" $159 each. You would still have to paint them, but should give you the look you want.

I love this post. I too am trying to upgrade my "twin bed" guest room on the cheap as well. I was also toying with the possibility of two twin mirrors. I do have a good connection for them if you have a resale number! Email me! Love what you have done so far!
Michele,
What a great project! Love the greek key trim on the headboard and romans. Did I just hear your doorbell? I think the word is out that you're ready for overnight guests!!
Looks great!

Love your guest room. May I make one suggestion? Your beds would look great if they were just a little higher. How about putting them on risers?
It looks great. Can't wait to see what mirror you use!
that must feel good! our guest bedroom still languishes in shame.
lovely michele and serene, just perfect

What a fabulous room! A shared table/chest between two beds is one of my favorite looks.
Ballard Designs has this mirror, which at $190 bucks isn't much savings, but I've seen it go on sale from time to time if you don't mind waiting.

I also love this $139 mirror. Not sure if it's too blingy?

Good luck finding the right one!
Totally reflects the excellence of the home renovator as shown by the color harmony in white theme. This type of interiors can also be used to paint

Looking good! I like that area rug.
I have actually been looking to buy some rugs lately.. anyone know any sites?
I've heard about Rugman.com?
Any experiences there? :)
Great job! What a gorgeous chest...It's a lovely focal point centered under the window and between the beds. I think you did a great job on the shade...I love the art over the desk as well...Was that you? Or were those purchased?
That room looks wonderful!
So pretty....I do love me some twin beds. The colors are very Mrs. Howardish.
