New England Charm

FROM the Archives - A post by Ann of Hill Country House reminded me to pick up the current issue of New England Home while I was in Cape Cod. It was full of great homes and this Connecticut house by Boston based designer Charles Spada caught my eye. The green in this library is so refreshing. The article mentioned that this green is the one chosen twenty years earlier when Spada first worked with these clients. (all photography by Bruce Buck, article by Stacy Kuntz)

You can also view the digital issue by going to the New England Home site. I couldn't locate a web site for Charles Spada but Deborah of Boxwood Terrace provides a great overview of his work in a recent post.

This traditional color green just seems made for books with their gilded spines and leather covers.

Charles Spader remains one of the best, and his pale rooms are wonderful, too.

Oops. Sorry for misspelling Mr. Spada's last name. I should know better!

You know what I love....the clean lines of New England style. In the south we have a tendency to over accessorize. Everything can stand out so much better.
